Ruby on Rails, is an open-source framework for developing web applications in the Ruby language. Rails was designed to make application development fast and easy, so its creators focused on letting developers quickly develop applications without writing unnecessary code.
Ruby on Rails is a free web application development framework written in Ruby. It was created in 2004 thanks to the work of Danish programmer David Heinemeier Hansson. Its main advantage is its extreme simplicity, transparency and intuitiveness in creating code without repeating it in different project files, i.e. according to the DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principle. The pleasure and simplicity of developing applications in this library also comes from the simplicity in its configuration, which is limited to the use of a few default template settings according to the Convention Over Configuration rule.

Ruby on Rails, despite the ever-increasing technological developments and the huge popularity of other frameworks, is still the most widely used by beginner developers. It works on the basis of the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) model, meaning the use of a minimum amount of functionality in an extremely fast product. This ensures that the product is ready to go, so that it can be tested on the target audience immediately, and the functionalities can be improved and developed later if necessary. The simplicity of this framework is also reflected in the low entry threshold. For this reason, many companies choose to use it for projects where time is of the essence, as it does not require a huge amount of technical knowledge, so assembling a team is relatively easy. What's more, Ruby on Rails allows you to write simple and clear code in a modular and extremely fast way, thanks to the large number of built-in extensions. Although this comes at the expense of performance and speed, for years it has been used by such global brands as Grupon, Twitter, GitHub, Shopify and Yellow Pages.
